Working the (ASSEMBLY) LINE...

DID YOU KNOW:

...That today’s automotive assembly lines produce on average 65 vehicles an hour or that from start to finish a vehicle spends about three days in the plant being built? The average line moving speed is 3 1/2 miles per hour. Think it’s easy to work the assembly line? Try trimming you hedges at that speed. Most assembly plants today work on the “just in time” parts to station delivery system. Parts are removed from railcars inside the factory and taken to each build station in just the volume to keep that spot equipped to build the next series of models as they come down the line. One of the best jobs inside an assembly plant is that of the forklift driver. It requires a lot of skill and there’s tons of pressure to be accident free while getting the right parts to the right stations quickly.
