TIDBITS of INTEREST, Part 13

DID YOU KNOW:

...That if your own the new C8 Corvette (you lucky dog), when you take it in for service be sure to ask if they’re going to use a four-post lift not a two-post? Seems the new Corvettes, with the engine located in the middle with a slight bias to the rear, haven’t fared well on two-post lifts. Several have now fallen off backwards and frankly the damage is serious...meaning you don’t want it back even if they repair it.

...That any automotive assembly line worker can stop the line at the press of a button at any station? This was done to give workers more control over build quality. Most American assembly lines move along at nearly 4 mph and should something get missed or go on wrong the line, they can be stopped and the issue cleared up. This wasn’t true a few years back and quality suffered as a result. Having shot a number of product training videos alongside a moving assembly line, I can tell you there certainly is a degree of pressure to perform you job quickly and well. It, like a lot of things, isn’t nearly as easy at it looks on TV or in the movies; these folks are good.

...That if you’re a Southern Nevada based car club and would like to come on the show we welcome you? Whether you want to describe the club, are seeking more members or promoting an upcoming event, we’re here for you. ...That SpeedVegas is now conducting race and track-day events, especially on the weekends? Oh sure, you can still drive a high performance exotic car every half hour and then when you're finished, watch racing for free in between each 30 minutes. There are weekday events happening too, so just go online to check their calendar.
