The HORSEPOWER Wars

DID YOU KNOW:

...That while the whole planet is talking, developing, and starting to market electric vehicles in big numbers, there’s a horsepower war being fought with gasoline powered internal combustion engines (ICE) by Ford, GM and FCA with both cars and trucks? While one part of the automotive world is talking out one side of its mouth, the other side is holding an entirely different conversation. What it proves is not everybody is yet onboard with the pure electric vehicle movement. In short, in some circles horsepower still sells.

As fans of horsepower, we understand why so many still want it and candidly we believe that some are buying it now for fear that they won’t be able to get it from ICE fairly soon. Honestly, they’re likely right. All three of the major players in the big horsepower market agree that the V8 engine is living on borrowed time. The odd part is, if you remove the wonderful sound of a highly tuned V8, a purely electric vehicle can be tuned to be much faster. In our view, it’s the sound that really sells the horsepower. Heck, even the flat six cylinder in a Porsche makes amazingly erotic sounds under load. The sound of speed can be intoxicating. However, the world is rapidly changing and that sound is soon to be hard to come by. Speed however, is becoming increasingly easier to buy.
