DID YOU KNOW:
...That it’s now impossible to open any form of automotive industry news and not be overwhelmed by electric vehicle news? Everybody is talking electric cars, trucks and SUVs 24/7. It’s almost scary because internal combustion engine powered vehicles still outsell EVs 30,000 to 1. Though the odds are slowly shifting, we are years away from the numbers being inverted. If suppliers and technology were challenging enough, try the “go green world” plans to solve the electric supply problem. How in the heck will that work? There’s likely to be a lot of dead-battery vehicles sitting in garages across America real soon if we don’t find the power to charge them... The old three feet forward, five feet back situation.
...On the whole, new electric vehicles (and there’s a lot coming to market in short order) have become very pleasant to drive? They’re smooth, fast, comfortable and quiet, not to mention better looking. However, as great as batteries giving longer range is, there still comes the unsolved issue of charging. Think back to the gas shortage of the '70s...only this time with electricity.
...Calmer heads are saying to consider hybrid over pure electric? Some are even screaming it, but we’re concerned nobody’s listening. Odd, because just two years ago nearly no one wanted to talk pure electric and hybrid was slowly gaining an audience; How quickly times change. If we lived in California, we’d be concerned enough about power supply in the coming years that hybrids would be at the top of our list. I have to add that most Chevy Bolt and Toyota Prius owners are very happy with their hybrids. Just saying...
