DID YOU KNOW:
...That there is now a now a new Land Speed Record for electric powered vehicles? A streamliner by the name of "Little Giant" just went 353 mph at Bonneville Salt Flats. With more and more focus on electric vehicles, we expect to see this number increase every year on the flats.
...As if New York City doesn’t have enough problems, it has now decided that noisy car exhaust should be the focus of their attention? Of course at the core of solving this huge issue is money. That’s right...stabbing, robbery, trash, sexual assault and a stinking police department aren’t money makers, BUT loud exhaust pays a $1,000.
...Hertz Rental Car just ordered 100,000 Teslas? That shook a few trees. As a great deal of the motoring public continue to remain in a state of denial about the reality of electric vehicles, yet another sign of the facts comes to light. Hertz is run by a former Ford Motor Company President and a damn smart one at that. Like a lot of you, we still wonder how we’re going to recharge all these electric vehicles but the fact is they’re coming to market...ready or not.
...Three days ago we had an opportunity to test ride in a vehicle that brings with it ground breaking technology? The test was exclusive and we will bring all the details in an upcoming show. Trust us, it’s a game changer.
...The annual Las Vegas based SEMA show just finished a week long orgy of all things automotive? Perhaps we’re getting older or it’s just the state of the post-pandemic newfound awareness, but this year we realized that as amazing as all the product booths, customer cars, and amazing new innovations are...in the end, it’s about the people. We can’t remember a time in all the years SEMA has had conventions (which began in 1970) that we enjoyed reconnecting with the people we care about in the industry so much. Last year’s convention was cancelled for obvious reasons and this year opened people’s hearts to what really matters — PEOPLE.
...Though COVID-19 has killed 5 million people worldwide, it has had major impacts on many other areas of life? Sadly people’s behavior in public has seriously been reduced to tragic to near inhuman levels. Rudeness is now the new order of the day and selfishness is on display everywhere. Sad. Driving has become considerably more dangerous because people refuse to share the road and exhibit common manners. Traffic deaths are up by 20,000; think about 50,000 people dying on the roads in the safest vehicle in history because people refuse to behave like adults. Even when we extend a kind road gesture to fellow drivers, no form of “thank you” is ever extended anymore. Being rude in a grocery store or a restaurant or on an airplane is bad enough, but to behave like that on the highways is killing people. Stop it!
