NOW RACING: VANS in Japan and EV Back Home

DID YOU KNOW:

...That full-size American vans have become new tuner car in Japan? In a country whose roads are built for much smaller vehicles, where gas prices are high, and road rules are super strict, it seems odd that hot-rodding American vans would become the new trend. By comparison, full-size vans are about four times larger than the conventional Japanese vehicle. However, part of the draw is that they come with V8 engines and are on average nearly as large as a lot of Japan’s apartments.

...That the hottest product being sold on TV right now is a device called The Battery Daddy? In and of itself, it's a clever storage system for household batteries but our concern is in order to fill it to capacity, that would require around $500 in batteries. This gives us a cute carrier that would likely never see itself filled.

...That even though it was shunned by fans of the internal combustion engine, electric car racing is gaining a fan base? It's currently being run with cars looking very much like Formula One or Indy Cars, but we think once they start to race production-based electric cars, viewership will skyrocket as owners of electric cars will be able to better relate. Time will tell, but good old fashioned fender-to-fender (rubbing) racing will always draw a crowd...doesn’t matter if it’s wheelbarrow racing.

...That the RV-ing season is rapidly approaching, and finding a space in a nice campground going be a lot harder this year? Seems RV sales are up over a million units, and it appears Americans want to get out of their houses for a while. Problem is there are only 54,000 good RV campsites in the United States, so the competition for finding an available one is going to get stiff. Best call now to reserve if you have any hope at all. Good news is we suspect there will be a lot of low mileage RVs for sale come next winter as the hobby requires a lot more knowledge and determination than most rookie RV owners are prepared for...not to mention the newfound monthly payment.
