DID YOU KNOW:
...That the surest way to polarize a room (or the Internet for that matter) is to mention Electric Vehicles? Wow, it gets people going and I was even accused yesterday on social media of a making "misleading statements” because I shared a fact that is a already public knowledge. Of course I politely asked this person to explain why they thought that, and all I got were a lot of words that neither proved or concluded anything. I listed the companies who have already made public statements that they intend to end internal combustion engines production by 2035, yet this just lead to more word games.
I can’t remember a time in the automotive industry that we’ve seen so many emotional reactions to anything new or different. Well, maybe the introduction of the Pontiac Aztek. I don’t come down on either side of this argument though I have shared that the newest fleet of electric vehicles is pretty darn good, if not great. We see even great things coming. Now, as for the issue of “does America have the power to charge them all?”...That’s a horse of a different color. Given the fires in California and power outages of the recent storms in Texas, there’s certainly good reason to question the state of the power gird in this country; Can’t believe that more load is gong to improve it. Toyota and Tesla feel strongly that the U.S. can’t handle a large shift to electric vehicles, yet others in “power business” feel we’re ready. The truth has many enemies and the upcoming sudden arrival of electric vehicles is a truth and brought its enemies out of the woodwork.
