DID YOU KNOW:
That everyday when I go to write this list of current and coming soon electric vehicles, new units get added? It’s enough to make you crazy. So, I give up: I’m writing this blog today and will likely have to update tomorrow. That’s how fast things are changing. Checking all the current hot news spots to make sure I have all the new models, I come across Facebook postings from people who simply hate the idea of electric vehicles. To be fair I started out in the same camp, but the more I learn and the more I’m around them, the more I begin to appreciate just how good they are.
I remain a huge fan of ICEs because the good ones make great sounds and have shift levers; that thinking is very old school, I know that. Millions of hard core cars types feel the same way but to hate just for the sake of hating is foolish for a number of reasons. First, (like it or not) electric vehicles, of all sizes, are coming — FACT! The donkeys that run this country are determined to force electric vehicles on us. Admittedly they’re doing it because they think it makes them look “green” and that gets you reelected. They know nothing about ICE or electric motors and batteries...Doesn’t matter.
So, once you accept the harsh reality that in less than ten years most major automotive manufacturers won’t even be making vehicles with ICEs, you’re left learning more about these vehicles. The good news is despite no manual transmission or cool sounding exhaust noise (I know they’re trying to come up with fake noise...what a joke), there are some really slick electric cars and trucks coming, and soon.
Porsche, Audi, BMW and Corvette are about to introduce some super hot electric versions of their vehicles, and others will join them later this year. SUVs and even pick-up trucks are all going electric as the list of units due this summer is already eight players strong and growing every week; even Hummer is on that list. Like anything, change isn’t always easily excepted but like most things this pill will get a lot easier to swallow as people learn more. So hang in there; once you get over the pain of them ripping the bandage off, you’ll likely to be really pleased with what you’re driving.
