SUMMER to Bring WARRANTIES and HOT, HOT HEAT

DID YOU KNOW:

...That the recent spread of new extended auto warranty companies is the direct result used cars becoming so much more reliable and valuable? Today you can buy an extended used car warranty on vehicles up to ten years old AND with 100,000 miles on the odometer. That’s the good news; the bad news is a lot of these insurance companies are thieves, liars and crooks. As with any new boom market, the snakes come out from under their rocks looking to rip people off. Our advice is you go with only the known brands, particularly those offered by major auto manufacturers. A good warranty makes for great peace-of-mind, but be aware there are a lot of snakes out there.

...That it’s time to prep your vehicle for summer and this year is looking to be the hottest one yet? There’s nothing worse than being stranded on the side of a highway as vehicles speed by at 75 or 80 mph. It might look intimidating through your windshield but those speeds passing by you standing outside are shockingly fast. New vehicle designs look all swooping and aerodynamic, but closing up all the air intakes on the front of the vehicle has come at high price to under the hood temps. Engines, radiator pressure used to be 12.5-t0-15-psi but today those systems are rated as high as 20-psi to allow for higher engine running temps: The better for emissions and engine performance but place current water/coolant temp to 230 degrees or higher. Remember, water boils at 212 at sea level. So having the engine cooling system in top form is a must these days; you're only one weak link in the system from needing a tow. Fresh oil and a newly charged air conditioning system will pay huge benefits in both your comfort and your engine’s reliability: Cheap insurance.
