DID YOU KNOW:
...That more and more auto racing groups are considering (and in some races already running) pure electric-powered race cars? To that we would add that so far...it hasn’t proved to be real interesting. The lack of noise and frankly little close competition haven’t helped it get much in the way of fan acceptance. The Formula E series races internationally and with major automotive manufacturer involvement. However, even it is hard to watch for more than five minutes.
NASCAR is also preparing to add an electric series to their calendar, but no details or plans have been shared yet. NHRA has seen some amazing record runs by electric cars and will likely have a class or two by next season. The Salt Flats have had electric streamliners running for years but they too expect to see a dynamic increase of the number of vehicles built for that type of competition. Few, if any, of the racing groups really want this type of vehicle but reality is the government is going to force feed electric vehicles and in short order. Like it or not...they’re coming.
