DID YOU KNOW:
...That automotive design appears to be taking on a whole new direction? A new crop of young designers, new trends, the evolution of electric vehicles and a strong desire to “set yourself apart” in the marketplace are all factors that are leaving their mark. There’s been a real shortage of truly good looking EVs, but that landscape is about to change. Some manufacturers have encouraged their design teams to push the envelope, resulting a few odd appearances: BMW’s new grille design for one, and the all new C8 Corvette has proven to be a bit of a disappointment for those of us who waited over four decades for it. The good news is every class of vehicle is about to get a “makeover or redefinition.” Should prove interesting.
...That we took a fair amount of flack for a few of our Road Tests? Seems a lot of folks don’t agree with us. The leading complaint focused on the Mustang Mach-E. You’ll notice we only refer to it by that name once and the rest of the time we simply called it Mach-E. Of course we heard from the name haters and even those you believe it’s all fake, whatever. We tested the Mach-E on the merits of the vehicle and the assumption that electric vehicles are coming and that by 2035, 50% of all new vehicles sold in America will be electric powered.
...That this team of reviewers have been talking about “Solar Roads” for 20 years, and now it appears we may be proven right? There have been a number of mini tests to see if the technology is ready, but now Germany has stepped up and is going to experiment with building miles of “real road.” We’re hoping this “no contact” recharge method proves functional as it will simplify the lives of EV owners.
...That just when it appeared Ford dealers were finally going to start to see backorders of F-150’s being filed a train load headed west derailed and destroyed the entire load? Ouch.
