Lowering Your Gas Costs

Well, our driving habits are coming home to roost. All of America is driving stupid fast and wasting fuel like it's free. That party just ended, so turn off the lights: your time in the fast lane is up. We’ve been dealing with 85 mph as the new 65...its not! Besides driving America’s road fatality rate to a 25 year high, predicted to be back to 50,000 lives lost this year, and burning through gasoline or diesel at an amazing rate. The average internal combustion gets 20-25% better mileage at 70 mph than it does at 85, and for some engines more.

A year ago what was a $30 fill up is now $70 and going up fast. The bottom line is the fastest way to keep a significant percent of fuel cash in your pocket: SLOW DOWN. Don’t worry, the remaining speeders will be forced to join you real soon because somebody going 85 in a crowd of 75 stands out and the Highway Patrol will have an even easier time spotting them. It's going to get even more expensive to drive like a fool.

Save fuel, save money and save lives. Welcome back, America.
