KITT for sale, the MANUAL DAYS, and CHINESE KNOCKOFFS

DID YOU KNOW:

...That the average selling price for a new car in America is now $38,000 and that there is just one car remaining priced under $15,000 and that is the Chevrolet Spark? China has an electric vehicle that sells for just $4,300 (in Chinese currency) but if you crash in it, it’s likely to be what they bury you in. China’s vehicle crash standards are best described as “give a damn” in terms of passenger safety.

...That “back in the day” (meaning in the '50s, '60s and '70s), automatic transmissions were an extra cost option and they made up about 30% of the market? Today, with manual shift transmission vehicle making up less than 10% of the market, you now have pay extra to get one. Now some will cry into their beer pretty hard over that, but the truth is today’s automatics work really well and are the key to vehicles meeting the current emission standards.

...That KITT, David Hasselhoff’s Pontiac Firebird from TV's "Knight Rider" is going to auction soon? The only celebrity TV prop car with more know replicas is the Batmobile, of which at least ten fakes have been sold as the original Barris custom. Doc Brown's Delorean from "Back To The Future" has been copied by a number of diehard fans of the movie series, but none have been known to be sold as the original to date.

...That when it comes to fees, the Chinese auto industry is rich with them? Twice, Ford has caught smaller Chinese companies building near perfect copies of the Ford F-150. GM has had to stop several companies in China from knocking off several of their products. Even high-end luxury makers in Germany have had to put a stop to firms in China from building fakes of several of their products.
