DID YOU KNOW:
...What really caused the microchip shortage that hurt automotive manufacturing worldwide in 2020 and the start of 2021? Turns out the world’s largest microchip maker is from Japan they and manufacture those chips in China. With so many employees in lockdown for COVID-19, it seems production at the world’s largest chip maker ground to a crawl. If that wasn't bad enough, the Government of Japan insisted they serve Japan’s largest export product...Televisions. Didn't see that coming. Yes, Japanese manufactures a lot of vehicles, but it makes even more TV’s and TV’s are the HOT ITEM during the continuing lockdown for COVID-19. Cars, trucks and SUV’s do well, but not well enough to cut to the front of the line of Japan’s big money winner. Hopefully everybody who needed a new TV to survive this mess has since bought one and the world’s vehicle production can ramp back up soon.
...As we watch the rapid acceleration of electric vehicle development, we are witnessing some strong bedfellows forming partnerships? Not just as suppliers, but as real-world partners. Seems the electronics industry would like to be in the electric vehicle business and a lot of electric vehicle manufacturers welcome the electronics businesses in helping them with the faster development of the electric management systems required for the modern electric vehicle.
