If you live anywhere close to Ford Country you need to try their in-dealership Diner, Mustang Sally’s — the food is great and prices are very reasonable. It’s got that '50s feel, you know, when times were simpler. Enjoy!
Funny that the GM put up such a stink about Ford switching the world’s best selling truck to aluminum a few years ago. Ford did so in the interest of weight reduction to gain both performance and fuel economy at no compromise to strength. Chevy went nuts and bad-mouthed it the instant Ford introduced it. Not long after, GM realized they needed to lower their pick up truck’s weight. What to do after making such an issue of alloy, GM went with a carbon fiber bed, lighter than steel and strong but expensive and stuck with a steel body; it bought them time but soon they would need to remove more weight. We say it’s funny they got so uptight about aluminum when that’s exactly what GM uses for the Corvette frame. We understand why and agree it’s the best call, but wonder if GM feels any remorse for picking on Ford for doing it for the bed and body of the F-Series trucks. We suspect...not likely.
Speaking of Corvette, what an amazing job GM has done with that “World Class” high-performance sports car. We’ve long wondered why it took GM 52 years to finally introduce a production mid-engined Corvette, but by all accounts it’s worth the wait. GM was testing mid-engine prototype Corvettes back in the late sixties, so diehard fans have been waiting for the production version for some time. Great news: it’s here and very kindly priced so that nearly anybody who wants one bad enough can afford it. I guess all things good do come to those who wait.
