Ford has been talking about the Bronco’s return for over three years and the waiting lists at dealers is phonebook thick. Well, the wait is nearly over and the final product is amazing. To this journalist with over 300 new vehicle introductions, it's one of the most purpose detail rich new products I’ve ever seen. Clearly Ford told the new Bronco designers to build the Bronco of their dreams.
We saw the Bronco concept ten years ago in Ford’s Product Development Center in Dearborn, but I was skeptical the final product would look anything like the concept but most “concept vehicles” never make it to production and when they do they never look as good as the vehicle we were shown. Bronco breaks the rules on that trend: It’s extremely attractive, well packaged and ready for life either on and off-road.
Just as surprising is how well the Ford Marketing folks address the Bronco customer. Seven different model packages with option packages inside of those to let every customer customize their Bronco to their personal tastes and use.
The Bronco Sport Outer Banks at Ford Country
Two engines, a 2’3 liter EcoBoost in-line four and a twin-turbo with 270-horsepower and a 2.7 V6 EcoBoost with 310-horsepower. Shockingly, a 7-speed manual transmission will be offered with the 2.3 EcoBoost engine; I say “shockingly” because we now live in age where manual-transmissions are increasingly rare. The ten-speed automatic transmission will be standard. Easy to remove doors, while the mirrors stay attached to windshield “A-pillar”, electric looking diffs and easy disconnect from sway bar for the serious off-roader.
Wash-out floor mats with built-in drains plus switch and controls designed for the dusty off-road use and easy clean and a 12-inch nav screen, again all designed for easy cleaning. Tires, depending on package run between 32’ to 35’. An added touch is the exterior color added to small contact points of the interior.

All too often we hear at Media vehicle introductions that this new vehicle is designed for people with an “active lifestyle” usually leaving us to wonder...what lifestyle? The all new Bronco is clearly designed and built to live the point for people who really have an active lifestyle and take their vehicle very personally. Well done Ford.
