DID YOU KNOW:
...That the Las Vegas Convention Center underground loop is set to open this June to serve Convention attendees? The 0.8 mile loop will run in both directions using Tesla Sedans traveling at speeds as high 40 mph. It can serve 4,400 convention guests a day and will get its first heavy workout during the upcoming concert convention. The Boring Company brought the project in under budget and ahead of schedule; Too bad Boston didn’t use these guys! City officials and the media and so excited that talks have now started about possibly continuing the tunnel down the Hotel Row and to the airport. This could really help relieve the traffic on The Strip and make moving around Las Vegas a lot easier. Tie this project to the high-speed rail from L.A. to Vegas slated to start construction the second quarter of next year, and Las Vegas could truly enhance its accessibility.
...That you’ve been warned? That’s right...if you’re either in the new or used vehicle market, having any kind of selection of your purchase is getting tight real fast. The infamous microchip shortage is responsible for the closure of 31 auto plants worldwide and causing serious new vehicle shortages. Dealer lots are drying up; That, in turn, has put pressure on the used car market again, forcing shortages of that supply. The effects of all this wouldn’t normally have happened so fast, but most automotive manufacturing plants were just reopening from being shuttled for COVID-19. In short, it's kind of the perfect storm of supply sources. Most manufacturers fear it will be late this summer (or worse, even later) before they can restart building new vehicles again.
