More MIDSIZE PICKUPS from OVERSEAS...

DID YOU KNOW:

...That there appears to be an uncanny number of new pick-up trucks coming to market in the next 18 months? Stranger still, the great percentage of them will be pure electric powered. Nearly all of them are built on midsize to compact platforms and most are coming from outside the United States. Reminder: a number of companies have taken a shot at the pick-up market and found that Americans expect more from a pick-up than just a sedan repacked with a bed-box and flexing frames (if any). If you’re coming to America to compete in this market, you had best have done your homework. Just because they're electric doesn't mean you're going to earn a spot on the buyers list — just saying.

...Hyundai just held a major media event in Arizona, and based on leaked information they had plenty to talk about? Word is Hyundai’s newest SUV drew strong factor with the gathered press. A photo embargo is in place, but we should have photos soon. As for buyers, the SUV market now has 66 players; one wonders if there’s room for any more. It’s one thing to be focused on a single vehicle at a “Press Introduction,” but it's a much bigger challenge sitting on the auto dealer’s lot in an auto mall.

...Ford’s Explorer remains number one in the mid-size SUV market, and is now the most exported vehicle (over cars or trucks) to other parts of the world?
