DID YOU KNOW:
...That automotive enthusiasts need to pay more attention to what’s happening in Washington DC? While doing all their smokey burn outs and fancy parking lot drifts, there are new laws on the house floor waiting to become law that will take their race and hopped-up street cars away from them. Despite that one in every five jobs in America are connected to the automotive industry, there are groups with very real power just dying to kill all auto hobbies. Race winners, car show TV Hosts and car-types of all kinds love to do smokey burn outs but please know that all this will be used against our profession and hobby. Pay attention NASCAR and INDY; the next time you see the winner videos it’ll be on the floor of Congress.
...Ford Motor Company just did a very inclusive live streaming introduction of the all new F-150 Lightning and it went over BIG TIME? Oh sure, the naysayers came out from under their rocks long enough to complain, but those who paid attention just saw the real future. Ford altered the Lightning’s appearance just enough to earmark what it is and people were introduced to a repurposed engine compartment that Ford now calls a "Frunk." Hey, why not? The following morning orders for the new Lightning were through the roof. Congratulations Ford, well done.
...That the Indy 500 is about to happen (May 30th) and with 85% of a full crowd this year? A full field of young guns are ready to drink the milk in Victory Lane. This is going to be a very intense race as the old guard, whose numbers are shrinking, have a heck of fight in front of them. Practice speeds for a lap average are around 240 mph! Better put a seatbelt on your easy chair, because this gonna be epic.
